Project Director
Reporting to the Vice President of Project Management the Project Director will manage and coordinate all capability service resources and subcontractor activities required to successfully complete on time obligations on customer contracts. All these activities are conducted with the objective of maximizing the division return and customer satisfaction.
Key accountabilities for this position are: - Directly and indirectly manage project team including project managers project administrators project engineering schedulers and other personnel as necessary to execute the projet on time and within budget. - Establish and manage schedules plans and budgets consistent with the proposed project financial goals as required for project management engineering procurement manufacturing shipment collections billings installation start-up training warranty documentation subcontracts purchases and all other project activities required to achieve positive project results. - Develop and implement plans to improve project results beyond established budgets and results. Monitor control and report monthly all financial aspects of the project consistent with the contract requirements and established project management procedures to attain established goals. - Monitor recommend and initiate when necessary changes to or corrective actions for commercial issues product design manufacturing and/or services to assure compliance with contract requirements and to maintain or improve project performance.
Qualifications required for this positions are: - A minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in project management related the rail industry sector is required. - Bachelor's degree in Engineering or in Business Administration recognized by the industry or a specialized industrial training in railway project management operations. - active member of a recognized association or professional group related to transit/rail engineering. You would be the ideal candidate if: You are recognized for the quality of your work your know-how and your teamwork management skills within a multidisciplinary team. You have demonstrated successful leadership initiatives strong organizational skills and possess impressive track records for having lead major projects and deliverables. You have demonstrated strong abilities for dealing and negotiating with customer demands working with short deadlines as well as successfully achieving goals in a context of changing priorities. You have demonstrated strong abilities in budget setting and forecasts departmental and resources needs.
