Manager Plant Maintenance Ground Service Duties

Position Information: Northwest Airlines is seeking a qualified candidate for a Manager Plant Maintenance GSE Hub in our Technical Operations division in the Plant Maintenance department. This is a full time position located in Detroit Michigan.

Responsibilities: Oversee the scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance of plant equipment. Serve as a primary contact for Ground Operations Cargo and other LMO organizations. The position will also be responsible for setting hub strategic objectives and planning resource allocations in conjunction with overall plant maintenance and financial objectives. The incumbent will also have responsibility for directing the work of plant maintenance management employees. This position primarily directs Detroit Plant Maintenance vendor compliance with Northwest Airlines Ground Service Equipment maintenance and safety programs. Directs and monitors vendor maintenance activities to deliver reliable equipment for station operations. Ensures compliance to environmental and safety regulatory programs. Manages vendor compliance to contract controls costs and supports asset optimization. Identifies and implements operational improvement.

Qualifications: Bachelor degree or equivalent experience; 3-5 years of supervisory experience preferred. Plant maintenance management experience required. Knowledge of government requirements and safety regulations as well as company; policies and procedures. Experience with operating within budget constraints. Ability to lead and influence others and manage employee performance. Extensive knowledge of plant maintenance systems goal and objectives.
